ASG Ultimate Mil-Spec AEG Performance Springs

ASG Ultimate springs are designed to deliver the best possible output while keeping its coil strength, consistency, and quality. With the closed and ground ends, the spring remains in place during use to prevent a reduction in ROF due to bending.
why do ViperTac recommend ASG springs over SHS?
There’s springs, then there’s performance springs
SHS Springs are very good quality & are made from steel, however, have a 1:1 compression rating.
What does a 1:1 compression ratio mean?
An SHS Steel Spring requires a motor with more torque to cycle the gears & has equal amount of effort to compress & the spring on the rearward stroke & an equal amount of energy on the forward stroke so SHS steel springs have a 1:1 compression ratio.
ASG Springs are also steel, however, they are manufactured using SiCr steel construction which has very different tensile properties.
SiCr steel springs are lighter & thinner than SHS, & ASG Springs are designed to be strong, durable, consistent & have a compression ratio of 1:3. This is where ASGs SiCr steel properties come into effect. With a SiCr treated steel spring, it uses 1 amount of energy to compress on the rearward stroke & provides 3 times more energy on the forward stroke.
A welcome benefit to using a SiCr treated steel spring is because of its unique properties to have a 1:3 compression ratio. It also directly translates to less wear & tear on the gears & motor as it’s not having to work as hard as a regular spring
